What can a chiropractor treat?

Answer: Most pain conditions in joints and muscles. Pain from the back and from joints and muscles in the arms and legs, stiffness in the neck and back, sciatica pain and headaches are among the most common cases.

Does the treatment hurt?

Answer: Treatment by a chiropractor is mostly painless and does NOT hurt. Many people are still nervous, however. This may be due to stories about the “cracking” sound that can be heard during the so-called manipulation treatment. The sound is not due to something breaking or tearing, but to a negative pressure in the joint being treated, which creates and releases some air bubbles. It is therefore only air bubbles that create the characteristic sound.

Is chiropractic dangerous?

Answer: No! You may experience soreness after a treatment for up to two days, but these are natural side effects. Serious side effects are extremely rare. However, we have never experienced this in my practice – or heard about it from our colleagues. If you compare it to the risks associated with medication and surgery, the risk is almost zero.

Do you need a referral from your doctor?

Answer: No.

Is it true that chiropractic treatment causes loose joints or osteoarthritis?

Answer: No. Several studies have shown that manipulation treatment does not cause loose joints or osteoarthritis. On the contrary, the functionality of the joints and muscles is normalized, so that the patient is free from pain and discomfort.

Is it dangerous for infants to be treated?

Should I stay home from work and rest?

Answer: If you suddenly experience new pain in your back or neck, you should continue your daily life as usual as much as possible.
