1st consultation
Your first visit will be as follows:
We talk about your pain
While you talk about your pain condition, how it arose, and how you have felt afterwards, we listen and ask questions along the way.
You will be examined and given a diagnosis.
We examine your entire spine for impaired function, mobility and swelling, and we assess whether an X-ray is necessary.
You receive chiropractic treatment
We gently loosen your muscles so that blood flows through the muscles and connective tissue. We then put the joint back in place. This often produces a “cracking sound”. The sound is due solely to the air bubbles that form in the joint during the treatment. The main benefit is that the joints move better, the muscles become more relaxed and your pain decreases.
You will receive good advice to take home.
An important part of our treatment is to advise you on which exercises and training are good for you. You will also get an overview of how many times you should come in the future. Even if your symptoms are similar to those that a neighbor or acquaintance has experienced, you may well need a completely different course of treatment. Therefore, it is important that you listen to our advice.
Your body responds to the treatment
It is normal to experience some temporary soreness in the area where you have been treated. Remember that the goal of treatment is to get your body back to normal.
Remember that time plays an important role in your treatment process. Even if your problem has arisen acutely, your joints, tendons and muscles have often been strained for a long time. Therefore, it will also take time to return to a normal state again.
It is also good to remember that the outcome of chiropractic treatment is not “either-or”. Most of our patients become pain-free, others cannot become completely pain-free, but can often get lasting relief. Pain relief means improved quality of life for you and your loved ones.
